What We Do
We make hand finished bespoke curtains and blinds, alongside many other soft furnishings,
(beanbags, scatter cushions, fabric storage bags) in order to to add the finishing touches to your child's nursery,
bedroom or playroom or any other room in your home.
How do we differ?
At Georgie Mae when it comes to children's soft furnishings we've got this! From funky curtains and Roman blinds we pride ourselves on offering something a little bit different. A little bit special, that isn't available on the high street, or anywhere else for that matter! Curtain solutions that mean you don't need to replace your child's curtain each time they grow out of a theme or interest, avoiding unnecessary cost both financially and environmentally.
Our extensive range of fabrics cater for all tastes and budgets from Parisien design houses to UK produced cottons. For a greener solution we offer a Bamboo fabric and felt made using recycled plastic bottles.
Often soft furnishings (curtains and blinds) are functional but not beautiful. There's no reason they can't be both things at once !
Our range of metal and wooden poles is extensive and can be added on to the curtain/blind making service.
Handmade and bespoke means they are made to last. Your investment should last for many years to come. Our children's range of curtains come with interlining (which offer thermal qualities) and super soft blackout as standard.
OUR NEW Product range
Our latest children's range of products address a need to be aware of our impact on the environment.
The UK throws out nearly one million tonnes per year of textile waste (clothes, linens, curtains) Source : WRAP uk
There are ways we can help to reduce that figure!
Parents ask why blackout?
What the research says..
For toddlers, pre-schoolers and school aged children, a room that is dark, cool and quiet is most conducive to sleep. It also suggests placing an over tired or over stimulated baby in a dark room is comforting. Source: The sleep council, baby centre, Little ones sleep experts)
Fed up of early risers? or little ones that won't go to bed?
I know as a parent of three anything that helps keep them asleep for longer is worth its weight in gold. This is why we offer supersoft blackout fabric and interlining (thermal qualities) to all our children's curtains as standard.
